The former Remington Arms manufacturing complex in Huntsville is back on the market.
Remington Arms filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in late July, 2020. The company’s largest assets were later sold off to Vista Outdoor Inc., including its ammunition and accessories business, which included its plant in Arkansas. That left the Huntsville plant empty.
NAI Chase Commercial Real Estate and B. Riley Real Estate announced yesterday that the complex, which totals nearly 800,000 square feet on 112 acres in the Jetplex Industrial Park, is immediately available for sale or lease. The plant is located off I-565 and close to the I-65 corridor. It is designated a foreign trade zone and adjacent to the Huntsville International Airport and the International Intermodal Center.
Constructed in 1988, the 553,868-square-foot manufacturing facility includes more than 20,000 square feet of office space, a full-service cafeteria, break rooms and locker facilities. In addition, the plant has a 20-foot clear height, 25-foot loading doors and an onsite electrical substation. There is even room to grow with a 14-acre site adjacent to the manufacturing plant.
Two commercial buildings are available for sale or lease, including a single-level, 119,750-square-foot office/laboratory and a two-story, 106,419-square-foot administrative office building with an additional reception and auditorium space of 16,419 square feet, which connects the buildings. These commercial buildings were added to the structure in 1989 and include finished office spaces, IT wiring and a robust security/CCTV capabilities. It also includes a full-service food preparation space, dedicated cafeteria and breakroom areas.
