RaceTrac will open its first EV charging station in Oxford

The convenience store chain RaceTrac has announced its first electric vehicle charging station in the country will be in Oxford, in St. Clair County. The location, which will open Oct. 10, will have charging options for all battery-electric vehicles in about 20 minutes.  – GLobeNewswire

 

Austal building components for submarine

Austal USA has received its first order for components for a U.S. Navy Columbia-class submarine. The order is for construction of the command and control systems module. The contract is for up to $12.8 million. – Austal USA

3-year agreement signed for Magic City Classic

The Magic City Classic, the annual football game between rivals Alabama A&M University and Alabama State University, will stay in Birmingham for at least the next three years. Both teams have signed separate agreements with the Alabama Sports Council for the council to manage and promote the game.  – Bham Now
