Prairie Farms closing Alabama facilities
Prairie Farms has notified employees at its Birmingham milk plant that that facility, as well as all of its substations and branches across the state, will be closed on July 31. All employees will be permanently laid off. Four Georgia facilities will also be affected. – WTVM 9

Milo’s nabs Nix endorsement
Auburn University quarterback Bo Nix has endorsed Milo’s tea, and that made him the first Auburn athlete to take advantage of new rules allowing student athletes to profit off their names and likenesses. Those new regulations went into effect on Thursday, and Nix announced his partnership with Milo’s just after midnight. – Montgomery Advertiser

Birmingham firm’s COVID-19 test gets approval
The FDA has granted emergency use authorization for a COVID-19 test developed by Birmingham’s BioGX. The test can be shipped anywhere in the world without refrigeration, according to the company, and costs $7-$12 per sample. – AL.com

Tuscaloosa marketing group buys Pensacola agency
The Nine, a custom web design and digital marketing company based in Tuscaloosa, has acquired Crossland Communication, a brand content agency based in Pensacola, Florida.
