Port of Huntsville has another year of growth in intermodal transportation

The inland port handled 24% more rail lifts than previous year

Huntsville’s International Intermodal Center at the Port of Huntsville showed a growth of 24% more rail lifts in 2023 than in 2022. The Intermodal Center reported 27,597 rail lifts.

The Port of Huntsville, the only inland port in North Alabama, specializes in receiving, transferring, storing and distributing international and domestic cargo via air, rail and highway. The intermodal complex has a five-mile rail spur connected to the Norfolk Southern Railroad mainline.
