Mark Pettus has gone from playing football at the University of Alabama at Birmingham to leading a Birmingham faith-based college to tremendous growth.
In the past few years, as president of Highlands College, he has overseen moving to a major new campus off of U.S. 280, as well as construction of an on-campus dormitory, with one more on the way.
Highlands College will also once again host the Impact Leadership Conference. This year’s conference, on Dec. 6, will feature speakers including Dr. John Maxwell, Doris Kearns Goodwin, Chris Hodges and Dan Cathy. Pettus hosts the virtual event with ESPN’s Lauren Sisler.
