Pinhoti Trail now has observation tower
The Pinhoti Trail in northeast Alabama now boasts an observation tower. The tower, on Terrapin Hill, was funded by the Conservation Fund and other organizations and individuals. The Top of the World Tower is 1,330 feet high. – Bama Buzz

The Archdiocese of Mobile has been awarded $25.8 million for termite damage at the Cathedral-Basilica of Immaculate Conception. The ruling says that pest control company Terminix failed to properly protect the basilica, resulting in extensive structural damage. – News 5
Baldwin school superintendent to retire
Eddie Tyler, superintendent of the Baldwin County Public Schools for 11 years, is retiring effective June 30. Assistant Superintendent Marty McRae will be interim superintendent until a permanent superintendent is named. – Fox 10
