The Alexander City planning commission approved road construction plans for Phase 2 of the Heritage, a 1,400-acre residential development on Lake Martin. This is an extension of the already-completed Phase 1 of the Wicker Point peninsula. Russell Lands moved up its 2024 start date for Phase 2 because of strong sales in Phase 1.  – Russell Lands

 

Huntsville giving $1 million to chamber for recruiting campaign

The City of Huntsville is giving $1 million to the Huntsville-Madison County Chamber of Commerce for a digital campaign designed to attract workers to the area. Workers are particularly needed in the manufacturing, aerospace and defense sectors.  – News 19

Flora-Bama trademark not violated by  ‘Floribama Shore,’ court says

The U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals has ruled that MTV’s “Floribama Shore” did not infringe on the trademark of the Flora-Bama, the bar and restaurant on the Florida-Alabama line on the coast. The court cited the First Amendment and its protection of artistic work that is not deliberately misleading. – AL.com
