Pemco, which praised the wonders of corporate life in Dothan on its website even while quietly moving its headquarters to Florida last year, announced this month that it’s closing its Alabama operations this month.
More than 100 employees already had been notified that they would be let go, and state officials were poised to meet with the other 200 workers.
The company, which also has aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul operations in Florida and Kentucky, filed for bankruptcy this year and identified the Alabama closure as a cost-saving measure.
