Northwest-Shoals Community College Foundation has received a $100,000 donation to start the West Florence Scholarship Fund for residents in public and income-based housing in West Florence.

“We look forward to serving the residents of West Florence through this scholarship, which will provide access to life-changing educational opportunities. We will continue our work to raise money to grow the fund and help more people make their education dreams a reality,” said Katie Smith, NW-SCC director of advancement.

The scholarship is open to graduating seniors and adults seeking to further their education. Recipients of the scholarship may choose to enroll as a full-time or part-time student. The scholarship is renewable and will be awarded for the first time for the 2022-23 school year. Prospective students should complete the Foundation scholarship application link that will be posted on the college’s Financial Aid webpage on November 15.
