Newsweek Recognizes Bryant Bank as Best Small Bank in Alabama

Bryant Bank, Alabama’s largest family-owned community bank, was recognized last week as Alabama’s Best Small Bank by Newsweek. This announcement comes with Newsweek’s first ever ranking of the financial institutions that best serve their customers’ needs in today’s challenging times.

To help consumers navigate the new financial landscape and find the institution that best serves their needs, Newsweek partnered with LendingTree, an online loan marketplace and comparison site for financial services, for their Best Banks rankings.  With over 2,500 FDIC-insured institutions, U.S. banks were assessed based on 55 separate factors to come up with a best-in-class option in 19 different categories, including the Best Small Bank in every state.

“Like virtually every other aspect of our lives – work, school, shopping, entertainment, you name it – the pandemic is changing the way Americans bank.  And those changes, in turn, are creating a new set of challenges and opportunities when it comes to picking the financial institution that best suits our banking needs,” said Diane Harris, Newsweek Deputy Editor in Chief.

For Bryant Bank, this news came as a pleasant surprise after a year when bankers have worked vigorously to help keep small businesses thriving and to provide much-needed aide and stability to our economy.

“I am incredibly proud of the job that Bryant Bankers do, day-in and day-out, to provide unbeatable service and legendary care for our customers and our Alabama communities.  It is our banker’s dedication to putting care into action to help Alabamians invest in their full potential that resulted in achieving this outstanding recognition,” said Paul W. Bryant, Jr., Chairman and CEO for Bryant Bank.  “This is a very exciting acknowledgement for our Bryant Bank family.”

The methodology in which Newsweek and LendingTree used to select this recognition of Best Small Bank in each state was less than $10 billion in assets but had to be among the five banks with the most branches in the state.  Altogether, 55 separate factors were assessed, covering a wide variety of fees, current and historical interest rates, account terms, consumer service features, mobile app satisfaction, bank profile and more.  For more details on this recognition or the methodology, please visit: https://www.newsweek.com/americas-best-banks-2021/best-small-banks-state
