Alabama lawmakers call Biden decision to keep Space Command in Colorado wrong

Alabama political leaders are saying the fight to get the U.S. Space Command headquarters in Alabama is “far from over” as the Associated Press reports President Biden has decided to keep it in Colorado. Reports say Biden was convinced by Gen. James Dickinson, head of Space Command, not to move his headquarters, going against Air Force leadership and others who determined that relocating to Huntsville was the right move. — AL.com

Navy contract may be loss for Austal USA

Austal USA’s parent company in Australia says the Mobile shipbuilder’s Navy contract for T-ATS ships, originally projected to earn 58 million Australian dollars ($39.7 million in U.S.), is now expected to result in a range “between zero profit to a potential loss of AU$10million.” Austal Limited attributed the change in forecast to several factors, including “general cost inflation pressures.” – AL.com

Knight joins Alabama Power board
