NASA topped the list of best employers in Alabama, according to a new listing from Forbes magazine.
Forbes used more than 80,000 confidential surveys from around the U.S. to calculate the best employers in every state. (To be part of the surveying, a company had to have at least 500 employees).
Target and the United States Postal Service were the most represented employers on Forbes’ U.S.-wide list, appearing in ranking 32 states. Bank of America, Home Depot and the U.S. Department of Defense ranked in 29 states. Target, U.S. Postal Service and the U.S. Department of Defense showed up on Alabama’s list.
The top 10 best employers in Alabama, according to Forbes’ list, are: NASA, University of Alabama at Birmingham, Southern Company, COLSA, Edward Jones, Apple, Publix Super Markets, Clayton Homes, Hibbett Sports and Boeing.
Ranking 11th-20th are the United Parcel Service, Lockheed Martin, Auburn University, Leidos, University of Alabama, Ascension, Polaris Inc., Target, Mercedes-Benz and Regions Financial.
