Mspark Media, of Birmingham, has promoted Rob Houghtlin to chief executive officer and has named Tim Halfmann chief revenue officer. These changes were brought about after the company was acquired by Creekstone Capital Group. The acquisition was completed on Feb. 1.
Houghtlin joined Mspark in March 2022 as vice president of local sales. During his tenure in this position, Houghtlin optimized the sales structure and talent, leading to significant revenue growth over the past several quarters. He also created a culture of accountability for consistently delivering advertising and marketing solutions, according to the company.
Houghtlin has 30 years of experience in senior leadership roles at ESPN, Car and Driver, Road & Track, Hearst, Vericast and Aslan Training and Development, including roles as chief revenue officer, senior vice president and publisher.
“Rob’s servant leadership philosophy, focus on accountability and performance aligns seamlessly with Creekstone Capital Group’s commitment to people and culture, growth and the resolution to seeing Mspark Media thrive,” said David Merwin, founding and managing partner of Creekstone Capital Group.
Tim Halfmann joins Mspark Media as chief revenue officer, bringing more than 30 years of experience leading sales organizations and consulting on their growth initiatives. He has worked in a variety of industries, including media, retail, software as a service and entertainment. He has led local, national, B2B and consumer direct sales teams.
“Tim is an innovative problem solver who is passionate about empowering sales organizations to bring unique ideas and strategic solutions that drive business growth,” said Houghtlin. “Tim’s experience, acumen and approach will serve our company and our clients well.”
