A lawsuit alleges that Mississippi-based JESCO, general contractor for Montgomery Whitewater, treated minority-owned subcontractors inappropriately and didn’t pay them. MDG Contracting & Environmental Solutions filed the lawsuit against the Montgomery County Community Cooperative District, which is seeking dismissal of the lawsuit.  – AL.com

Silver Ships awarded nearly $8 million contract modification

Silver Ships, based in Theodore, has been awarded a $7.8 million modification to a previously-awarded contract for the acquisition of 49 additional high-speed maneuvering surface target craft and accessories. The Naval Sea Systems Command is the contractor.  – U.S. Department of Defense

TVA identifying sites for small nuclear reactors

The Tennessee Valley Authority is identifying sites throughout its seven-state footprint for small modular nuclear reactors. North Alabama falls into TVA’s coverage area and the federal utility already owns land there along the Tennessee River. – AL.com
