The Mobile City Council is set to vote on a $4.9 million contract with Spain-based Adelete Ports to have a new gangway installed at the Mobile Alabama Cruise Terminal. The project comes as Carnival Cruise Line plans an October return to Mobile. – AL.com

 

ULA expansion has permits

The City of Decatur issued one permit for an $80 million building and another for a $60 million building, both part of United Launch Alliances planned expansion. Turner Construction is the builder of the project that broke ground in October. – AL.com

Brasfield & Gorrie-built school wins award

Magnolia Speech School’s new Madison campus won a Gold Award from ABC Mississippi’s 2022 Excellence in Construction Awards. The project, considered in the institutional $10-$25 million category, was built by Birmingham-based Brasfield & Gorrie.  – Brasfield & Gorrie

 

Austal begins submarine work

Austal USA, based in Mobile, has started work related to the U.S. Navy’s Virginia-class and the future Columbia-class nuclear-powered submarine fleet. The work is part of a strategic partnership with General Dynamics Electric Boat.  – Naval Technology
