Milo’s Tea Co. has closed its Homewood plant, a manufacturing and distribution center for the company. The company says more than half the employees at the plant have been relocated to its Bessemer facility. – AL.com

UAB Health System acquires Southview Medical Group

UAB Health System has acquired Southview Medical Group, a multi-specialty practice that serves patients in central Alabama. Jefferson County economic development in 2025 topped $400 million

The Jefferson County Commission says preliminary estimates show more than $400 million in economic development projects announced during 2025. The projects were led by the recently announced $150 million Alabama Farm Center in Warrior. – The Birmingham Times

Opelika brewery closing after a decade

Red Clay Brewing Company in Opelika, a downtown fixture for the past decade, is closing in March. The brewery has been next to John Emerald Distillery just off the railway tracks. – Bama Buzz
