Miles launches $25 million campaign

Birmingham’s Miles College has launched a $25 million fundraising campaign to improve not only its student experience but the surrounding community as well. The campaign is the second phase of an effort to raise $125 million. $101 million was raised in the first phase.  – The Birmingham Times

 

New contract with Carnival in Mobile is longest yet

The Mobile City Council approved a five-year contract with Carnival Cruise Lines with an option to extend another two years. It’s the longest contract the cruise line has had with Mobile. A new cruise ship is set to dock in October. – News 5

Sanders Trust opens Massachusetts hospital
