The Birmingham Business Alliance has hired Meredith Drennen as vice president of investor relations. As a core member of BBA’s leadership team, Drennen will focus on growing the organization’s investor base, as well as overseeing the recently announced Leadership Exchange Trip.
Drennen joins BBA from the Homewood Chamber of Commerce where she has served as executive director since 2015. While there, she was able to grow membership by 40% and increase renewal income by 55%.
Drennen previously served as director of operations with the BBA from 2009 through 2014. Her previous duties included overseeing the governing bodies and playing a pivotal role in implementing the strategic plan, particularly during the organization’s post-merger period.
“Investor relations is a critical component of our organization’s success. Meredith’s extensive experience and proven track record in this area make her an invaluable asset,” said Steve Ammons, president and CEO of BBA. “We are confident that under her guidance, our investor engagement will not only strengthen but also help drive our mission forward, bringing new opportunities and growth to the greater Birmingham region.”
Drennen was named the 2023 Chamber President of the Year by the Chamber of Commerce Association of Alabama.
