Mercedes launches the EQ Experience, a training program on electric vehicles for employees.

Mercedes-Benz USA has launched the Mercedes-EQ Experience, a training program for dealership and corporate employees on electric vehicles.

The program, taking place in Alabama, is a three-day session on training employees in the electric transformation, ensuring that the dealership employees are equipped with the company’s strategy and sustainability commitments and build enthusiasm for the company’s new EQ vehicles.

“The Mercedes-EQ experiences is a fully immersive learning event designed to leave participants not only energized about our brand’s electric future, but also confident explaining the benefits and technology to our EV customers — both present and future,” said Lisa Rosenfeld, general manager of Mercedes-Benz Academy, MBUSA.

Participants will get to drive an EQ vehicle on-road and on-track.

The training will include four interactive modules that use virtual reality learning to describe the EV technology and future strategies of Mercedes, as well as how to relate that information to new electric customers. Participants will also experience a factory learning session at Mercedes-Benz U.S. International in Tuscaloosa, where they will see EQ vehicles assembled, and take a tour of the new MBUSI Battery Plant in Bibb County.  For the final day of training, the participants will drive Mercedes EQ vehicles, both on-road and on-track at Barber Motorsports Park in Birmingham.

“Transformation is happening right now at Mercedes-Benz in the U.S.,” said Dimitris Psillakis, president and CEO of Mercedes-Benz USA. “To help accelerate our path, we need to ensure that our people are well equipped to bring this vision to life.”
