Master Boat Builders Inc., in Coden, has successfully launched its third escort tug. The Titan was built for Suderman & Young Towing Co., which operates out of Texas.
Titan is the third RApport 3000-class escort tug in a four-tug series.
“Titan reflects the strength of our partnership with Suderman & Young, and our team’s ability to deliver high-performance escort tugs that meet the needs of today’s harbor operations,” said Garrett Rice, president of Master Boat Builders.
The RApport 3000-class escort tug series is designed to support harbor, ship-assist and escort operations. The 98-foot tug is powered by two engines producing a combined 7,000 horsepower and is capable of approximately 13 knots. The vessel is designed to accommodate a crew of six and carries 44,342 gallons of fuel oil and registers at under 300 GRT, offering flexibility across a range of port and escort assignments.
Master Boat Builders is a vessel and workboat manufacturer, operating since 1979. It has built more than 460 vessels for customers, including tugboats, offshore supply vessels, fishing vessels and dive support vessels.
