Baldwin Preparatory Academy welcomed Mary Lacoste as its newest assistant principal in September. Lacoste joins current Assistant Principal Tony Rogers. Together, Lacoste and Rogers will support the academy’s growing student body, staff and expanding career pathway programs.
“Baldwin Prep continues to grow because families and students recognize the value of providing meaningful opportunities that connect education to life after high school,” said Principal Adam Sealy. “With that growth comes the need to continue our expanded leadership capacity. Tony and Mary bring different experiences and strengths to the role, and together they will help us continue providing the level of support our students and staff deserve.”
A Mobile native, Lacoste earned her bachelor’s degree in secondary education from the University of South Alabama and holds teaching certifications in English and history. She also has a master’s degree in library media from the University of West Alabama, along with an Instructional Leadership certification.
She has 17 years of experience in Mobile schools, including 12 years in the classroom and five years as a media specialist. She joined Baldwin County Public Schools as an assistant principal at Spanish Fort High School in 2022.
Baldwin Preparatory Academy is a full-time, magnet-school-like institution offering academic and real-world, on-the-job experience integrated into a building designed for academic and industry-specific immersion. It is part of the Baldwin County Public School System.
