Mary Ann Hanke has joined Maynard, Cooper & Gale as an associate in the Government Solutions Group. She will focus her practice on representing government contractors in disputes or compliance controversies involving the government or other businesses. She is the firm’s fifth hire for the Government Solutions Group’s growing practice.

“Mary Ann’s first-hand experience in the courtroom and keen understanding of complex federal and state laws enhance our depth and capability to provide comprehensive representation for our clients,” said Andy Watson, chair of the Government Solutions Group. “Mary Ann’s background in industrial engineering and cybersecurity adds a significant tool to the group’s growing arsenal.”

Prior to Maynard, Hanke served as a law clerk to the Hon. Mark Cohen in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia and as a staff attorney at the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit. She also previously served as a law clerk for the Federal Trade Commission in Atlanta.

She earned her J.D. from Georgia State University College of Law, where she served as the legislation editor for the GSU Law Review. She received her bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering and is currently seeking a master’s of cybersecurity from Georgia Institute of Technology.
