
Birmingham-based SARCOR LLC has appointed Mark Brown as executive director of economic and business development. In this role, Brown will lead the civil and transportation engineering firm’s regional growth strategy, business development initiatives and strategic partnerships across Alabama and the Southeastern U.S.
Brown has more than 15 years of experience in executive leadership, with a background in economic and community development, industrial recruitment, workforce strategy and public-private partnerships.

Brown previously held senior leadership roles with the Tennessee Valley Authority and the Birmingham Business Alliance.
He is a graduate of the University of North Alabama, the University of Oklahoma Economic Development Institute and Auburn University’s Economic & Community Development Institute. He currently serves on the Alabama District Export Council, is chair of the Launch Regional Partnership’s Land Use and Infrastructure Committee and is past president of the Japan-America Society of Alabama.
