Luxury Marriott planned for Northport

Marriott Hotels will build a 144-room luxury hotel at Northport’s University Beach lagoon resort. The property will include 12 luxury waterfront suites. Northport’s Harrison Construction is the builder, and fall 2027 is the targeted open date.  – Tuscaloosa Thread

Chelsea’s Valley Post will feature 4 Pihakis restaurants

The family-oriented Valley Post development in Chelsea will feature four restaurants owned by the Pihakis Restaurant Group. The restaurants will be Hero Doughnuts, Little Donkey, Luca Legotto and Rodney Scott’s BBQ. – Bham Now

USA Health acquires non-invasive liver tumor technology

USA Health has acquired the Edison histotripsy system, a noninvasive treatment for liver tumors. USA says it is the first health system in Alabama and one of fewer than 100 nationwide to offer the treatment. – USA Health

The Wharf opens expansion

The Wharf in Orange Beach has opened its Portside on Main expansion. The development is 33,000 square feet of retail, office and entertainment space and about 26,000 square feet of green and open space, including an outdoor stage. – Bama Buzz
