South Korean tech company LG Electronics is getting out of the solar panel business, a decision that means shutting down its solar manufacturing facility in Huntsville. LG has assembled solar panels there since 2018, and the shut-down will affect about 160 employees and 60 contract workers.  – Mercom

 

Slim & Husky’s opening first Alabama location

Nashville-based Slim & Husky’s Pizza Beeria will open its first Alabama location in Birmingham’s Avondale area. The pizza and craft beer restaurant will have a drive-through, the first at a Slim & Husky’s. – Nashville Post

Hyundai looking to fill 300 jobs

Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Alabama will hold a job fair Saturday in hopes of filling 300 positions on the assembly line. The fair will be Saturday, 9 a.m.-2 p.m., at 900 Hyundai Boulevard in Montgomery. – Alabama News Network

 

Shipt adds Walgreens, 7-Eleven

Birmingham-based Shipt, which offers shopping for its customers, has added Walgreens and 7-Eleven to its roster of stores. Since 2020, Shipt has tripled its network of shoppers and doubled its retail partners for same-day delivery. – AL.com
