$200 million initiative trying to solve coast housing problems

Gateway Initiative is moving ahead with plans for a $200 million campus that would house a workforce development center and dorms. Those on the task force include South Baldwin Chamber of Commerce and Coastal Alabama Chamber of Commerce executives, Gulf Shores & Orange Beach Tourism and the Coastal Alabama Community College. – AL.com

A&M’s Wims will become university president

Alabama A&M’s Daniel K. Wims, currently provost and vice president for academic affairs and research, will become president of the university when Andrew Hugine Jr. retires Dec. 31. The A&M board of trustees approved Wims as president in a 7-4 vote after interviewing three candidates. – News 19
