La Keisha Wright Butler has joined Maynard Cooper & Gale’s Correctional Litigation Practice Group as of counsel. She will focus on general and complex litigation.
Butler has extensive experience representing clients in the areas of governmental affairs, law enforcement and civil rights litigation. Previously, she served as executive director of the Fire and Police Commission for the City of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She also served as the legislative liaison director and assistant city attorney for the City of Milwaukee.
Prior to her time with the city, she served as an attorney in the Wisconsin Department of Revenue and practiced law at a firm in Louisville, Kentucky.
She earned her J.D. from Vanderbilt University and has an LLM in taxation from New York University School of Law. She earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Maryland Baltimore County.
