The National Science Foundation has appointed Alabama State University Associated Provost for Academic Affairs Dr. Kennedy Wekesa to serve a three-year term on its Committee on Equal Opportunities in Science and Engineering. He currently serves on NSF’s Biology Directorate advisory committee.
“I am humbled and grateful to have been selected by the National Science Foundation to serve on yet another of its committees, which advise it and its membership,” said Wekesa.
ASU Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs Dr. Carl Pettis said the appointment represents continued national recognition of Wekesa’s professional accomplishments.
“This is a great recognition of Dr. Wekesa’s wonderful service to the STEM community,” Pettis said.
Established in 1950, the National Science Foundation is an independent federal agency that supports science and engineering in all 50 states and U.S. territories.
