KC Logistics aims for Athens location

KC Logistics

Michigan-based trucking firm KC Logistics, planning to open a new facility in Athens, was approved to purchase 12.65 acres from the city of Athens.

The $250,000 property purchase will help the firm establish service to the new Mazda Toyota Manufacturing plant nearby.

North Alabama news outlets report that KC logistics plans to invest $12 million in the project and that it will transport auto seats from supplier firm TBAKI to the new joint venture plant.

Established in 1986 by Ken Calendar, KC Logistics identifies itself as one of the largest minority-owned transportation and logistics firms in the Midwest.
