Karl Rayborn

Karl Rayborn has been named president and CEO of Alabama Rural Electric Association of Cooperatives.

Rayborn succeeds Fred Braswell, who has served as president and CEO for 22 years and is retiring.

AREA is the statewide trade association serving Alabama’s 22 electric distribution cooperatives, PowerSouth Energy Cooperative and the Tennessee Valley Authority. Rayborn is an Auburn University graduate. He previously worked with Jackson Thornton & Co.
