Palomar Insurance Corp. is pleased to announce the promotion of Justin Smitherman to the position of chief technology officer. Smitherman’s responsibilities include the development of technology strategies and the management of complex technologies for Palomar. He will also serve as the executive liaison for technology to the Palomar Board of Directors.
“Justin has overseen complex network, software and security endeavors for our companies,” said Len Skipper, chief operating officer of Palomar. “In demanding environments, technology is of utmost importance. He has worked to ensure connectivity, enhance technology and improve offerings to our customers.”
A graduate of South University, Smitherman started his career with Palomar in 2011 and was promoted to IT director in 2013. Since then, he has overseen numerous projects that have allowed Palomar to provide premier service to customers. He is actively involved with and currently serves as president of the Montgomery Independent Insurance Agents (MIIA) Association, a non-profit organization that helps local charities.
