J. William McFarland Jr., JD, of Tuscaloosa, principal of Birmingham-based real estate investment firm Buffex LLC, has been elected to serve a term as secretary of the Board of Directors of the Jesse Helms Center Foundation in Wingate, North Carolina.
Recently, McFarland established the Campbell-Underwood Endowed Scholarship in support of the Center’s Free Enterprise Leadership Challenge, an annual program teaching high school youth at six college campuses about the values of entrepreneurship, capitalism and traditional American values.
