For the third year in a row, Hyundai has been named the top SUV brand in America by U.S. News & World Report. Hyundai makes SUVs in its Montgomery plant.
Also this year, Honda took the prize as best car brand. Honda is also one of Alabama’s key automakers, crafting light trucks, SUVs and minivans in Lincoln. Mercedes-Benz, which has operations in Tuscaloosa, also got a nod on the best luxury listings.
The magazine rankings especially noted the Hyundai Tucson, calling it “one of the best additions to the competitive segment. It currently ranks among the best in class, thanks to a premium cabin with lots of space for people and cargo.
“Winning the U.S. News & World Report 2023 Best SUV Brand for the third consecutive year is very gratifying, as the entire company has diligently worked to exceed SUV buyer needs,” said Olabisi Boyle, vice president, product planning and mobility strategy, Hyundai Motor North America. “With powerful and clean powertrains, abundant advanced technologies, innovative design and comprehensive safety features, Hyundai is consistently satisfying its SUV buyers with success.”
