Hyundai Motor Company in Alabama is facing a temporary partial shutdown this week because of a global shortage of semiconductors. About 800-900 employees at the Montgomery-based manufacturing facility that employs about 3,000 will be affected. – NPR

Shelby endorses former head of BCA
Sen. Richard Shelby has endorsed Katie Boyd Britt, the former head of the Business Council of Alabama and also formerly Shelby’s chief of staff, in the 2022 Senate race. Britt announced her candidacy last week. Shelby had announced in February that after six terms, he would not seek reelection. – Alabama Political Reporter

Alabama 4-H Center opens $8.4 million expansion
The Alabama 4-H Center on Lay Lake in Shelby County has added new kitchen space and dining areas with its $8.4 million expansion. That makes the complex one of the largest conference centers in Alabama. The center has a hotel and conference center that is used for weddings and large meetings.  – U.S. News & World Report

Young Entrepioneers, which for five years has been advising small businesses when it comes to marketing, celebrated the grand opening of its studio/hub this weekend. The group offers public relations and marketing expertise to startups and seasoned businesses. Services include social media operation and event planning, and a studio is available for recordings, including podcasts. – ABC 33/40
