Huntsville symposium focuses on defense technology
The AUVSI Pathfinder Symposium this week in Huntsville is a gathering of government and defense industry leaders discussing the future of defense technology. The symposium also includes 20 student robotics teams. The symposium is at the Von Braun Center. – News 19
$1 million given to Gulf Coast charities
The Shawn Esfahani Foundation is donating $1 million to four Gulf Coast charities in honor of the late Jim Moran, founder of Southeast Toyota. The donation will be split among Prodisee Pantry, the Lighthouse, Penelope House and the Baldwin Humane Society. – News 5
Birmingham pub mainstay to move
Carrigan’s Public House, a mainstay on Birmingham’s Morris Avenue for 12 years, is closing on Sept. 6 and moving. Carrigan’s will be moving to the William, a mixed-use development on 3rd Avenue North, in October. – AL.com
