Huntsville hiring ‘music officer’
The City of Huntsville is looking for a “music officer,” a new position meant to help the city build its live music reputation in the region. A 2019 Music Audit recommended adding the music officer position and a nine-member music board. Applications are being taken through Aug. 23. – WZDX 

$23 million car dealership coming to Birmingham area
The vacant Virginia College building at Birmingham’s Palisades shopping area will be demolished to make way for Stivers Ford of Birmingham, a $23 million investment that will result in 83 new jobs and up to 150 employees. –

Birmingham firm to manage Johns Hopkins apartments
Birmingham-based Capstone On-Campus Management will manage 929 Apartments, a 572-bed community adjacent to the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, School of Public Health and School of Nursing in Baltimore.
