Huntsville Facebook Data Center goes online
The first two buildings on what will be a $1 billion campus for the Facebook Data Center in Huntsville have gone online. The facilities are in North Huntsville Industrial Park. To celebrate, Facebook announced a $300,000 donation to the Space & Rocket Center for Space Camp scholarships. – AL.com

Mike Lanier will retire as president of Hoar Project Management effective Oct. 1, and Ryan Austin, currently COO and executive vice president of HPM, will succeed him. Lanier will serve as an advisor and consultant until the end of the year. Lanier co-founded HPM with Rob Burton, CEO of Hoar Holdings.  – HPM

Protective lights up new Birmingham stadium
The Protective Stadium in downtown Birmingham lit up its sign for the first time Tuesday night, with Gov. Kay Ivey, Mayor Randall Woodfin and others gathered to celebrate it. The stadium officially opens Oct. 2 for the UAB vs. Liberty University football game. — Patch
