U.S. Commerce Department funding rail spur for Atmore peanut plant
The U.S. Commerce Department’s Economic Development Association is investing $2 million for infrastructure improvements in Atmore. Specifically, the money, along with $500,000 in state and local money, will fund a rail spur that will serve the new Coastal Growers LLC peanut processing plant. The $87 million shelling and storage facility is under construction in the Atmore Industrial Park. – Progressive Railroading
Wetumpka renovations featured on HGTV show
Twelve major renovations in Wetumpka are featured on “Home Town Takeover,” which premiered Sunday and will air for the next five weeks on the cable channel. (It’s also streaming on Discovery Plus).
