Home Depot and Utz Brands (which purchased Birmingham-based Golden Flake in 2016) both are planning warehouses along the Acipco Industrial Drive corridor. Officials from the city of Birmingham, who Tuesday night approved road improvements for the area, said the two warehouses would bring 90 new jobs to the city.  – Fox 6

 

Capstone Building plans major Pensacola project

Birmingham-based Capstone Building Corp. has announced a new $61 million luxury apartment project in Pensacola, Florida. Construction on the development, which will be on Nine Mile Road, is expected to be finished by June 2024. – AL.com

3 Alabama HBCUs teaming with IBM

Three universities in Alabama are among 20 around the region teaming with IBM to establish Cybersecurity Leadership Centers to help fill unfilled cybersecurity jobs in the U.S. Alabama A&M University, Talladega College and Tuskegee University are among the schools working with IBM on the project. – Cision
