Birmingham’s Highlands College will add a second on-campus residence hall after a $17.7 million purchase of an Extended Stay America and accompanying property on U.S. 280.  Renovations will begin this month on the 45,000-square-foot property that sits on four acres. – Bham Now

 

Providence Hospital officially has new name

What used to be Ascension Providence in Mobile is now USA Health Providence Hospital. The sale of the hospital to the USA Health System, announced in April, took effect on Sunday.  – News 5

New restaurant opening in downtown Anniston

Lulu’s Place, a new Southern-influenced restaurant focusing on steaks and seafood, will open soon in downtown Anniston. The restaurant will be part of Lulu’s Bed and Breakfast. Chef at the restaurant is Theorun Anderson, who was chef at Birmingham’s Carrigan’s Public House.  – Bama Buzz
