The Highland Group, a real estate development and commercial construction firm, has celebrated the completion of yet another groundbreaking project – the flagship technology innovation center for technology giant ProValus in Brewton.
The Highland Group served as general contractor for the state-of-the-art, 55,000-square-foot facility that ProValus unveiled yesterday with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. Alabama Governor Kay Ivey joined for the momentous occasion alongside Optomi’s CEO Chuck Ruggiero, ProValus President Laura Chevalier, Alabama Department of Commerce Secretary Greg Canfield, Brewton Mayor Yank Lovelace, and state Senator Greg Albritton.
“Bringing jobs to rural Alabama is not done by politics alone,” said Ivey. “With the company in our state, this is going to change the lives of people in Brewton and surrounding communities. This just proves that talent exists here and that’s what we’ve known all along. Rural Alabama has more than agriculture and timberland to offer.”
The flagship center is already home to more than 180 employees and ProValus hopes to hire as many as 300 employees in the next 12 to 18 months.
