Auburn will lead national STEM initiative

The National Science Foundation has given Auburn University $10 million to lead a national research effort to promote STEM (science, technology, engineering, mathematics) education among disabled students. The five-year program will involve 27 institutions conducting research to enhance workforce development opportunities for people with disabilities. – Auburn University 

Marshall: Businesses can require employee vaccinations

Alabama Attorney General Steve Marshall says employers are allowed to require their employees to get vaccinated, with Tyson Foods announcing that employees in all of its locations, including Alabama, be vaccinated by Oct. 1. The Ascension health care system will have a similar requirement.  – AL.com

Covington County airport adds medical transport service

The South Alabama Regional Airport Authority, which operates an airport in Covington County between Andalusia and Opp, has approved a lease agreement with Medical Air Rescue Company, which plans to operate out of the airport in the next few months. – Alabama News Network
