Alabama Farmers Federation has hired Grace Heim as director of state legislative programs in its External Affairs Department.
In this role, Heim will work on policy issues that impact farmers and rural Alabama while taking an active role in the Alabama State House during the legislative session.
Federation External Affairs Department Director Brian Hardin said Heim’s State House experience will be a boon to the organization. Heim previously worked as legislative assistant for the clerk of Alabama’s House of Representatives and as communications director for the House Majority Office.
Heim previously interned with U.S. Sen. Katie Britt, the Alabama House Ways and Means Education Committee, Yellowhammer News, the Alabama Law Institute and the Republican National Committee. She also was a sports reporter and assistant sports editor for The Auburn Plainsman and served as a counselor for Alabama Girls State.
