Farming Families Named Outstanding Young Farm Family of the Year

Stan and Kayla Usery, both of whom grew up on farms and who now own a 700-acre farm in Limestone County, have been named Alabama’s Outstanding Young Farm Family of the Year by the Alabama Farmers Federation.

The Userys grow wheat, cotton, soybeans, corn and chickens on their farm near Elkmont.

Though both had a background in farming, they established their own farm only after Stan earned an agriculture degree from Auburn University, which he credits with making him a “smarter farmer.”
