Birmingham wants to redevelop steel mill
The city of Birmingham is using a $2 million SEEDS grant to explore ways to redevelop the 500-acre U.S. Steel Ensley Works site. The plan will also look at ways to improve the 105-year-old Birmingport facility. – AL.com
UAB building sells for $2.2 million
An investment group has purchased a historic building in downtown Birmingham, most recently used by the University of Alabama at Birmingham, for $2.2 million. Once the home of Liberty Motors, the building is now art studios for UAB’s Department of Art and Art History. – Bham Now
Hoover, Mobile pause internet sales tax challenge
