ATAP Inc., based in Eastaboga, has been awarded a $19.5 million contract with the U.S. Navy. The five-year contract is to provide Reconfigurable Test Shapes. The work will be done for the Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division in Newport, Rhode Island.   – Defense Daily

 

Faith leaders call for Warrior Met to end strike

About 150 faith leaders have called for Warrior Met Coal to settle a now 22-month strike by some of its workers. The strike with the United Mine Workers of America is affecting more than 800 families, said the leaders who sent a letter to the coal company. The strike is at a Warrior Met coal mine in Tuscaloosa County. – AL.com

 

GreeneTrack closes, lays off dozens

GreeneTrack Entertainment Center closed its doors on Tuesday after a recent ruling by the Alabama Supreme Court, which forced the venue to pay taxes of more than 100% on electronic bingo machines. The Greene County establishment is unlikely to reopen, its CEO says. – Alabama Political Reporter
