Nidal Bassam Omar, M.D., neurosurgeon, has joined Infirmary Neurosurgery following his residency with the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
Infirmary Neurosurgery is an Infirmary Medical Clinic and a member of Infirmary Health’s multi-disciplinary Neuroscience Center of Excellence. It provides diagnostic services and treatment for neurologic conditions including brain tumors, complex and degenerative spine issues and trauma.
He is a graduate of the University of South Alabama with bachelor degrees in biomedical sciences and psychology. He earned his medical degree from UAB.
Omar is the recipient of the Stephen Mahaley Jr. MD Award for Translational Research from UAB Neurosurgery. His research on a variety of neuroscience topics has been widely published and he has co-authored multiple chapters in academic textbooks.
