Ara Travers, M.D., has been named assistant chief medical officer and medical director of clinical care management at USA Health.
In the role of assistant chief medical officer, she will optimize the health system’s resources, improve efficiencies in work processes and promote a team approach to patient care. As medical director of clinical care management, she will collaborate with multiple departments to ensure patients receive quality care in an efficient manner. She also will care for patients at USA Health University Hospital as a hospitalist with Jag Services.
“By engaging in patient care directly, I am hoping to identify areas of success and opportunities for improvement within the system,” she said.
Travers has more than 20 years of experience in inpatient and outpatient settings, mostly recently working for Ascension Providence Hospital in Mobile. She is a graduate of the University of Mississippi Medical Center and completed her residency at Floyd Medical Center in Rome, Georgia. She earned her MBA from the University of South Alabama.
