Dothan tourism group stands behind CEO

Visit Dothan is standing by its president and CEO after he pleaded guilty to felony fraud in Iowa, stemming from a stint in a similar position in Des Moines. Aaron McCreight pleaded guilty and could face as much as 30 years in prison and a $1 million fine. – Fox 2

 

Dothan will get drive-through grocery store

Florida-based Farm Stores is building its first Alabama locations in Dothan. The neighborhood store allows shoppers to order via an app, phone call or drive up and pick items up from their car. Three Farm Stores will be built throughout Dothan, with a target of 100 throughout Alabama eventually. – WDHN

First Horizon giving away $1 million to businesses

Birmingham, Huntsville and Mobile are among the 16 communities that are part of a First Horizon Bank contest to give away $1 million to businesses. Entries are being accepted through Feb. 15, and 1st place through 3rd place prizes will be given in each community. – The Ritz Herald

 

Pelican Place site sold

The Gulf Shores site of the former Pelican Place condos, destroyed by Hurricane Ivan in 2004, has been sold for $1.7 million. The 1.1 acres will be developed as Pelican Place Cottages, with 15 homes. – AL.com
