Officials from U.S., Europe talk about Mercedes union action

The U.S. government has been in contact with German officials about alleged union-busting activity at Mercedes-Benz’s plant in Vance. In addition, the European Commission has spoken to Mercedes about its activities in Alabama. A union vote is planned for May 13-17 at the Alabama plant.  – Bloomberg via AL.com

Gadsden State Community College’s fine arts department will get a makeover to the tune of $7.9 million. Plans are to renovate the Wallace Hall Fine Arts Center and academic wing. – Gadsden Messenger
